What does Disney’s Frozen Elsa Doll, Tickle Me Elmo,  and Cabbage Patch Kids all have in common? They’ve all had their turn being the HOT toy of the Christmas season. It happens every year. And every year, parents search desperately like mad, crazed hunters to find the toys on the top of their children’s wish lists. I started doing a little search of some of the best selling toys on Amazon.com and created The Mommy Mafia Hot Toy Guide.  Consider yourself warned. Some of these hot toys are already commanding 3x retail prices on eBay.  Original retail pricing is included so you know if you’re getting a good price, or being gouged by an aftermarket seller.  What’s the must-have toy on your kids’ Christmas lists? 1. Little Live Pets Beauty Bella Bird Cage
When I asked where I could find the Little Live Pets Beauty Bella Bird Cage at ToysRUs, the associate told me, “Oh my gosh! Those are like, ‘flying‘ out the store. (Pun intended.) We are selling them as fast as we get them.” The description online: “Your pet bird will respond to touch, sing, record sounds and will talk back to you! It will also fit on your finger so you can take it anywhere.” Curious, I went to ToysRUs, Target AND Walmart and all were sold out. Retail: $19.99  (Single birds without the cage are easier to find. They retail for $12.99.)

 

2. Zoomer Dino with Tin Collector’s Case – Onyx
As the follow up from one of the most impossible toys to find last Christmas, Zoomer Interactive Puppy, I’m sure you’ve seen Zoomer Dino advertised everywhere. Onyx, the BLACK Dino is ONLY available at ToysRUs, making it a little more difficult to get your hands on. It comes with it’s own tin storage case which is a plus. Retail: $109.99

 

3. LEGO Minecraft The Village
Currently the #1 Best Seller on Amazon.com in Toy Building sets. Minecraft is huge with little boys right now. Warning if you buy online, reviews on Amazon.com are saying that the kit is really, really small in person. Retail: $34.99

4. Fisher-Price Disney Frozen Jeep Wrangler Ride On
Your Frozen fan will be the first to have this newly released Fisher-Price Disney Frozen Jeep Wrangler Ride On. Besides being totally adorable, it has a pretend radio with songs from the movie. (Let them sing Let It Go in their own car for once!) Retail: $249.00

 

 

5. VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch, White
My Little Made Man has been watching commercials for the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch for a month now and he wants it. He says it’s going to make him a better “spy.” According to Amazon.com, it can take photos and videos, has a voice recorder, and learning games. Also available in Pink, Blue and Green. Retail: $59.99

 

 

 

6. Fisher-Price Little People Disney Princess Songs Palace
With a little dash of extra-girly, this Fisher-Price Little People Disney Princess Songs Palace is just adorable. By placing any princess on the magical palace dance floor you can hear her name, phrase and a song. Retail: $52.99

 

7. Big Hero 6 11″ Deluxe Flying Baymax with 4.5″ Hiro Action Figures
At first, you might think that toys from the latest Disney movie, Big Hero 6 would be simple to find, but, this one in particular seems to be extra popular. And if you’re thinking, “no way, Disney would never underestimate the popularity of a toy tied to it’s latest movie.” Ha. I guess you weren’t trying to find toy #8 last Christmas. Love the fact that it comes with the Hiro action figure. Retail: $49.95

8. Disney Frozen Sparkle Princess Elsa Doll
It took a year, but Disney finally got it’s Frozen toy nightmare handled. Frozen merchandise is everywhere this Christmas. Elsa is still the number one wanted doll according to Amazon.com and every little girl I know. While I’ve seen Elsa pretty much everywhere, she still might be tricky to find online. You might be better off going straight to the Disney Store or ToysRUs. Retail: $19.99

9. Star Wars Saga Legends Inquisitor Action Figure Wave 4 and Star Wars Rebels Inquisitor Lightsaber
The Little Made Man is obsessed with Star Wars and more specifically, Disney’s latest, Star Wars Rebels. Apparently, Star Wars Rebels is a HUGE hit with ADULT Star Wars fans as well and the show was just picked up for another season. The success of the show is making Star Wars collectors crazy for the toys. So if your little Jedi has Star Wars Rebels toys on his list, start hunting NOW. Amazon.com is currently sold out of the dual-sided Inquisitor Lightsaber, but I was able to pick one up at my local ToysRUs.  That little 6″ action figure of The Inquisitor on right is selling for $26.00 on eBay. 10. VTech KidiBeats Drum Set

Although I don’t think the VTech KidiBeats Drum Set will be hard to find, I’m including it because it’s the number one selling toy on Amazon.com in three different categories. This highly rated drum set allows mini rockers to play along to nine pre-set melodies in a variety of styles including rock, dance and pop. Retail: $19.99
