The Ways I Totally Spoil My Dog

I would like you to meet Disco. She’s my absolute favorite dog in the whole wide world. (Yes, I know I have three dogs and it may not sound very p.c. to say I have a favorite, but I totally do.) I just adore her. She is the sweetest, kindest little furry bit of love you ever did meet. And I am totally guilty of spoiling her. Let me tell you how I spoil my dog:

1. She sleeps in bed with me and my husband every night.  (The other two dogs don’t get to do this.)
2. She has her own dog bed in my office. (My big dog isn’t even allowed in my office.)
3. The groomer comes every month to keep her “beauty routine” and I give her weekly baths at home to keep her gorgeous.
4. I am very mindful of her meals. At 8lbs., we need to keep a good eye on her diet. It’s important to me that she live a nice, long healthy life. No scraps of arroz con pollo! Let me tell you, the one thing about this little dog is that she might just love eating just a little bit less than she loves me.
5. (To my husband’s chagrin) I am constantly buying her little costumes, clothes, bows and matching collars. Hello! She has an image to keep up- her name is Disco and she’s a Latina Yorkie from Miami!
6. I make sure that  Disco gets plenty of outdoor time and exercise to keep her healthy.

One of my favorite places to shop for Disco is Target, of course no surprise there! It’s nice that it’s kinda a one-stop shop for all of my dogs, but of course, the spoiled one. The groomer comes once a month for what I call “her beauty parlor days,” and in-between I give her a bath at home. While I was at Target, I saw the Boots & Barkley Sweet Honey Oatmeal Dog Shampoo and figured I’d give that a try.

I’m pretty sure Disco doesn’t exactly love her bath time. But the Boots & Barkley Sweet Honey Oatmeal Dog Shampoo smells so sweet.

Small dogs need different types of nutrition than larger dogs. So I always make sure the food I buy for my little mamacita is specifically made for small dogs.
