While some parents might freak out about the idea of traveling with their kids, I don’t. Mine is a serious frequent-flying expert. My Little Made Man has tacked on more flown miles than the average US adult. He had his 1st passport at 3 months and had already flown his first international flight to Mexico at 6 months. Now, at a ripe, old-age of 6, he’s quite the seasoned traveler. Global Entry certified and TSA pre, he’s got the whole traveling game down. He’s been with me on international flights, delayed flights, cancelled flights (including a non-planned overnight in Chicago) and countless connections. Honestly, he’s actually easier to travel with than some adults I’ve flown with.
Of course we travel prepared. Luggage is a big part of that. His first carry-on case was an adorable Lightning McQueen soft-sided kids 2-wheeled kids case. It was designed to look like a mini Lightning McQueen, it was so cute. On his 4th birthday, he was gifted a Spiderman 2-wheeler, also equally cute to watch him tugging Spiderman around the airport.
On our last ski trip, we had just arrived to the airport and were about to go through security. My Little Made Man looked up at me and said, “Mommy? When can I get a grown-up suitcase? Like with FOUR wheels?” My carry-on has 4 wheels. His dad’s carry-on has 4 wheels. His dad looked at me and said, “Yeah Mommy, he’s a big boy now. He wants a Big Boy suitcase.” See ya Spiderman.
So after breezing through security and making our way to the gate, what did I do? Yup, I hopped on the Amazon app from my iPhone and started searching. I asked him what type of suitcase he wanted and he said, “Star Wars.” Big shock there, lol. And what came up?
Two clicks later (I love you Amazon Prime) a brand-new American Tourister Star Wars R2D2 Suitcase (4 Wheeled Spinner) was on it’s way to our house.
The R2D2 suitcase was cute in the picture online, BUT IT WAS SO MUCH CUTER IN PERSON!
Honestly, it is really adorable. I see why it originally sold out immediately when it first came out.
I knew it would be perfect for our upcoming trip to Disney for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. But I also knew that it was perfect for him.
He absolutely LOVES it.
In case anyone is wondering, it’s perfectly sized to meet American and Delta’s carry-on baggage restictions at 22″ x 14″ x 9″
It also fit in American Airline’s overhead compartment without any problems:
Not only does he love the bag, but the amounts of oohs and ahhs and the compliments we got throughout the airport were crazy! The bag is roomier than I thought it would be and the wheels glide way better than expected. The Force is seriously strong with this bag! Love it!
By the way, American Tourister also has the 21 Inch Hard Side Spinner in Darth Vader, Storm Trooper, Kylo Ren (The Force Awakens) and BB8 versions!

Disclosure: I purchased this American Tourister R2D2 suitcase on my own for my son and he just loved it so much I decided to write about it. Affiliate links in post.
