You’re ready. Ready to shed the baby weight, or maybe ready to just get out of the house. Ready to get back into a fitness routine again, READY. But you need a little push. Or, should I say, you’re ready to give a little push? How about pushing that stroller of yours and including your baby into your workout? Have you heard of Stroller Running? Stroller Running is incorporating your stroller (and child) into your workout. It’s the perfect combination, really. Your child loves going outside in her stroller, you want to add a little exercise. And it just so happens that the First National Stroller Running Day is taking place this Saturday, November 8th. You don’t need to sign up, you just need to get your stroller, your child, and GO!
If you’re ready to go a step further, what about signing yourself up for a Stroller-Friendly race? Intrigued? Check out the site Run Stroller Run. Run Stroller Run has a fantastic, comprehensive, integrated calendar focused on stroller-friendly races that allow parents to jog or walk with their jogging strollers, and also family-friendly races, triathlons and other competitive endurance events. Their calendar is searchable by both state and distance, and is the largest directory of these races in the world. Take a look at races currently on the calendar for the state of Florida here.
A little intimidated by the “race” factor? Ok, then why not check out Fit4Mom? The amazing Cecila and her Miami Fit4Mom team would love to have you join them. The workouts include power walking/jogging and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller and the environment. Classes are taught by certified and specially trained fitness instructors, and are a great workout for any level of exerciser.
In celebration of National Stroller Running Day, there’s also a #StrollerRun14 Twitter party taking place Tuesday, November 4th 9pm EST, with some pretty awesome prizes from Britax, Linkouture jewelry, and Fit4Mom.
