When I found out that Disney wanted me to throw a little #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate, I couldn’t resist. Then they told me that they wanted to also add a little Jake and the Never Land Pirates into the mix- how perfect! So I invited a few favorite friends and their parents and prepared for a Pirate (and Princess) party of fun! I invited everyone to show their #DisneySide- so I asked them to come dressed as their favorite Disney Pirate or Princess!
First, in my family room, I set up a table for yummy and kid friendly snacks like Crunchmaster Grammy Crisps and Clif Kids Z Protein Bars. I put some blue Powerade in a glass pitcher and labeled it “Pirate Punch.” With some Jake and the Never Land Pirates party accessories like matching tablecloth, plates, and napkins, the table looked adorable. Then, for even more fun, I added some pirate “treasure”- little trinkets like bouncy balls and mini telescopes.
In another room, I made a fun table for “Pirate Pizza” with a “Pirate Ship” made from wood dowels that I picked up from Home depot. The top blue “lookout” on the mast is just a simple kid’s mini beach bucket. I used a painter’s drop cloth for the sail and then just safety pinned the pirate flag to it. I had it sitting in a small bucket of sand and then covered it with some burlap. I’m not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the “mast” is about 4 feet high! (Not being much of a DIY-er, I was actually pretty proud of myself with this project, lol.):
I picked up some plastic gold coins and sprinkled them all over in the back yard. Then, I sent the Pirates and Princesses outside to hunt for gold “treasure.” They were excited to find the “gold doubloons.”
We also played “Walt Disney World Bingo” and then I let the little ones do some coloring with some Jake and the Never Land Pirate coloring sheets.
Since it was a party to also talk about Disney Parks, I let the adults watch a little DVD about the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Vacation Planning.
All in all, we had a great little time, even spotted a super little one showing her #DisneySide shoes 🙂
