Alvin, Simon and Theodore Return To The Big Screen December 18th
When Alvin and The Chipunks end up in South Beach, you know it’s a guaranteed party. Mommy Mafia was lucky to be invited to an advance screening of the latest Chipmunk installment, Alvin And The Chipmunks: Road Chip with my family last weekend, and it was a blast. My Little Made Man was jumping up and down in his seat, alternatively giggling and flat out laughing at the screen.
The basic premise is that through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami…and then dump them. So the brothers have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.
The underlying themes of family and brotherhood run deep in the movie which will be easily relatable to kids, particularly those, like mine, that are from blended families. As in previous Chipmunks movies, kids won’t be able to resist the mischievous antics and adventures Alvin and his brothers encounter along the way. The music of the film will have little ones dancing in the aisles (trust me, I saw the cutest ringlet-haired cutie dancing myself) throughout the movie. The Chipmunks serve fun renditions of pop hits such as “Uptown Funk”, “Turn Down For What” and “Juicy Wiggle” that are undeniably fun.
If you’re looking for a fun family time Alvin And The Chimpunks: Road Chip has it all. Miami folks are going to especially love the Miami scenes- when was the last time YOU were at the Shelbourne hotel? Oh and of course, you’re not going to want to miss them doing Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga” either.
